Nights spent by foreign tourists in Finland decreased by 9 per cent in January

The number of recorded nights spent by foreign tourists at Finnish accommodation establishments in January 2010 was 492,000, which is nine per cent less than in January 2009. The total number of overnight stays decreased by six per cent from last year and was 1.2 million. Overnight stays by resident tourists decreased by three per cent from January 2009. These figures are preliminary data from Statistics Finland’s statistics on accommodation establishments and they have been collected from accommodation establishments with at least 10 rooms, cottages, or caravan pitches with electricity connection, and youth hostels.
