Fresh phishing attempt on Nordea bank customers

Finnish customers of the Nordea banking group have again been subject to a phishing attempt. The fraudsters attempted to steal personal user codes by means of false web pages masquerading as a genuine Nordea operated site.

Coastal rail services back to normal

Rail services between Helsinki and Turku have returned to normal after earlier disruption caused by a trackside fire late Friday at Piikkiö. It is thought the blaze in a signal box was caused by youths.

Long-haired men don’t cut it in Finnish Defence Forces

Finland’s Equality Ombudsman is challenging the Finnish Defence Forces to consider whether long-haired men can serve in the military. In a recently-issued statement, Equality Ombudsman Pirkko Mäkinen declared that there’s room in the Finnish workplace for men who wear their hair long, but tidy. However, the Defence Forces don’t see the need to change their established practice.

Electrical fault stalls main line rail traffic

Jarkko Ruutu signs for Jokerit

Sisu Auto dispute resolved

The Defence Forces and Sisu Auto have settled their dispute over faults in the company’s all-terrain vehicles. Conciliator Jorma Eloranta says that Sisu will correct the detected faults, along with any yet to be discovered, according to the terms of the warranty.

Pupil held over bringing bomb kit to school

A 15-year-old boy left a backpack with bomb-making materials at the Vaisaaren koulu middle school in Raisio, near Turku, on Friday morning. Police picked up the pupil in the town centre mid-morning.
