Stock listed Vincit comments 2017 financial result in ice swimming video
Software company Vincit announced it's financial result on the morning of February 16th, 2018. The company reported a good result, but more exceptional for a stock listed company is how the communications were done. Management provides comments in a video from an ice swimming session.
Instead of an official press releases, the company's CEO Tomi Pienimäki and CFO Sebastian Krapf go through the highlights of 2017 first in the sauna and then after ice swimming. The marketing stunt comes from the idea that why should financial communications be boring?
In the video the management duo goes through acquisitions and other events in Finglish:
This is not the first time the company has used offbeat videos, they did one video before at the amusement park Särkänniemi in the city of Tampere during a roller coaster ride. The company values unusual methods, which represent the company's own culture - driven by marketing director Pasi Kovanen.
After listing on the Helsinki Stock Exchange, Kovanen thought that financial communications are mostly interesting to bean counters and owners, but few others. He values that Vincit management dares to take part in unconventional methods such as this. Through humor the company expects a wider audience for it's financial communications.
The company started from Tampere in 2007, but now has offices Helsinki, Turku, Palo Alto and Orange County. The company is known as a good employer, having won the Great Place to Work competition twice in Finland, and finally in Europe in 2016.
The company is also listed among the best software developer friendly companies in Finland. Vincit does mostly software consulting for other companies, but they have some software products like VincitSign, VincitESB and VincitEAM.
