UpCloud responds to Digital Ocean: High IOPS VPS now more affordable

UpCloud is a Finnish provider of hosting services. The company is acclaimed for high performance and reasonable prices - Users on UpCloud can receive significantly better price/performance ratio than on competing services like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Early in 2018 a competitor Digital Ocean dropped their pricing significantly.

UpCloud is now responding to the offering from Digital Ocean, Linode, Vultr and other similar hosting providers price cuts. On March 1st the company announced new pricing with high performance Virtual Private Servers (VPS) starting as low as $5 per month.

While the price is now lower, the company does not aim to lower it's service level. The company continues to offer unique 100% availability in it's Service Level Agreement (SLA), with outages of over five minutes resulting in a fifty time penalty for UpCloud. This shows their confidence in their technical capability. The company also offers free $25 credit trial without credit card details.

The company currently runs data centers in Amsterdam, Chicago, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London and Singapore and is continuing growth driven my strong demand of high performance hosting services. To support growth he company is currently hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a Full Stack Developer and a Senior System Administrator.
