How significant are 3D printed parts in a modern Formula 1 car? How and which parts is 3D printing used for?

3D printing plays a major role in wind tunnel models. They are largely made from 3D parts as they are quick to make and they can be used to replicate the cars design very closely. The racing cars themselves employ 3D printing mostly in complex metal parts that are hard to machine.
