Can a team build F1 drivers completely different cars?

Can a Formula 1 team build completely different cars based on the driving styles of the drivers?

In theory they could, but they don't. The settings are used to adjust cars to the preferences of different drivers. The cars are always the same, including the geometry and aerodynamics. Small adjustments to spring and damper stiffness and wing positioning make up most of the differences between setups.
