How does DRS alter speed and laptime in F1?

How much effect does DRS have in the speed of the car and the laptime?

It varies a lot between the circuit and the wing itself. At Monza you will get more than ten kilometres per hour of extra speed, but the improvement in time is really made out of how long the DRS zone is. At some tracks it's some tenths of a seconds, at some much less.
