Is the same car chassis used the whole season in Formula 1?

Do drivers use a single car chassis for a Formula 1 season? If not, how many do they use.

Currently teams can construct 4-6 chassis under current regulation. The current F1 calendar does not require more than that. Four is the minimum, because teams must keep spares for each driver. There used to be more, but since testing is forbidden there is no reason to manufacture more.
