Why is it so hard to drive a Formula 1 car in wet conditions?
Water interferest with the aerodynamics of the car. All the airflows and vortexes are carefully designed to bring more downforce to the car. When water displaces air, it closes some of the air tunnels as it behaves differently. This can be alleviated with a wet condition setup of the car, but if the race starts in the dry but turns wet - driving is very difficult because of the compromises caused by water.
