The Finnish government wants to abolish the use of daylight saving time. On January 26th 2018 minister of transportation Anne Berner said Finland is proposing dropping the use of the system in the whole of the European Union.

The Finnish Lapland has enjoyed growth in tourism in the past few years. This has been a boost to the local economy and a lot of new jobs have been created. Currently employers are facing trouble in recruiting staff.

Taxi transportation is deregulated in Finland in July 2018. The market moves from a system where the number of taxi licenses was limited to one where there are no arbitrary limits. This opens up the market for new players. One of them is Fixutaxi that brings flat rate 10 € rides to the capital Helsinki.

Fennovoima, a Finnish consortium of power and industrial companies, is in the process of constructing a new nuclear power plant to Pyhäjoki in Finland. Rosatom - the company contracted to build the plant has not been able to confirm the construction schedule for the new reactor.
