Finland is the largest black soot emitter out of the Nordic countries

A fourth of the warming of the arctic area comes from black soot emissions. Finland is the highest emitter of this form of pollution, with the majority of it coming from fireplaces and sauna stoves. Emissions of dangerous particles to health are highest when burning wet wood.

Insulation from StealthCase to fix poor mobile network signal indoors

Cellular network reception issues have been a nuisance in many new buildings for some years now. This is caused by a variety of factors from building materials to higher radio frequencies being adopted. Now a Finnish startup called StealthCase claims to have come up with a solution to fix poor network signals indoors.

US tourist found dead in Uganda days after deaths of a Finn and a Swede

Ugandan Daily Monitor newspaper reports that a third dead foreigner, citizen of the United States, has been found in the East African country. The death follows a series of two suspicious deaths, first a Finnish man on business in the country was found dead in a hotel room. This was shortly followed by a Swedish citizen found dead in the capital Kampala.

Suomi.fi security bug bounty program open — Rewards up to 30,000 €

Suomi.fi is a state run web service in Finland. The portal provides information and online access to public services from many government organizations. Population Register Centre, the body behind Suomi.fi has now organized a bug bounty program with rewards of up to 30,000 euros.
