Biggest advantages of active suspension in F1?
How does the active suspension banned from Formula 1 in 1994 differ from the suspension in use today. What were the greatest benefits?
There are significant differences. Active suspension was hydraulic and the height of the car was controlled by a computer. Slightly exaggerating it's safe to say that at slow speeds the car was very high, but at high speeds close to the ground. If active suspension was allowed the car would be at optimal ride height at all aerodynamic circumstances. This would change the cars quite a bit and would allow much more aggressive aerodynamics.
