Does fuel temperature affect the performance in F1?
Does the fuel temperature make a difference in perfomance? Or is it possible to gain a competitive advantage by tweaking temperature/volume? And are the cars filled with the fuel at no specific temperature?
The density of the fuel changes according to temperature. The regulations state that the fuel can be a maximum of 10 degrees colder than the ambient temperature. The teams always aim to cool down the fuel to this point. The cooler the fuel is, the more energy it contains.
