According to Pellervo Economic Research (PTT) the price of groceries and foodstuffs is expected to rise in Finland in the coming years. This reverses the trend of lowering prices that has been going on for the last three years in a row.

The Kemijärvi Bio Refinery project in Northern Finland is going forward. The news comes from Borealis Bioref, the company behind the venture. Funding was secured by China's Shanying purchasing a majority stake in Borealis.

Ore discovery grew rapidly in Finland in 2017. According to Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) a total of 61,4 Million euros were spent in ore discovery in the country. This is an increase of over 50 percent year over year.
