The rest of the changes to the alcohol law in Finland came into effect on March 1st 2018. After liberating sales of alcohol products in stores and supermarkets, the changes liberate sales in restaurants. Punters can now purchase craft beers from pubs to drink at home, for example.

Finnish business man Markku Ritaluoma aimed to build a car sales and services complex near the city of Hämeenlinna. The project was initiated in 2010, but since that time the company behind the Sunny Car Center used dodgy business practices before finally going bankrupt in 2015. On March 1st the case goes on trial.

Bank of Finland reports that drawdowns of student loans in the country are on the rise. This is following the reforms done to the student aid system during 2017. According to the organisation managing the state's monetary policy the rise began in August and continues on a rising trend.

There was a change in the laws regarding sales of alcohol on January 1st 2018. As a result supermarkets and kiosks can sale products with up to 5,5% in alcohol. Previously punters would need to go to the state owned alcohol monopoly Alko or bring it from travels.
